I ordered pies for our family Christmas on Dec 5th. Due to having 4 adult kids and significant others we celebrate our Christmas the following week. On Dec 20th Gray House Pies called me to tell me that they could not fulfill my order because they will be closed that week. The website took my order and took my payment with no notice until Dec 20th when it was too late to order pies from anywhere else. I wanted more compensation than a credit for my order. The manager was going to ask the owner and no one ever called me back...they just credited my credit card for my order total. As a person that works with the public I know that this was terrible customer service! They should have at least given me a gift card for 2 pies in the future for good will.
This place is great! The pies are fresh, quality and made with care. The service is kind & informative. Have only been here once - but now I know where I will be getting future pies for Family Get-Togethers.
The $17 fruit cake was awful. Threw it in the garbage. The eggnog pie was just ok for $30
Picked up two pies for my husband’s birthday on a Friday. Both were refrigerated immediately. He cut into the banana cream on Saturday and the filling was runny and the topping was powdery and tasteless. We threw the pie out. He tried the peach pie the next day…..the bottom crust was not cooked at all and he thought it tasted funny. Thankfully he saw the mold before he took another bite. I have gotten pies from here before but after this will never get them again. I sent an email Monday 9/13/21 and as of 9/19 have not heard back from them.
The pies are small and expensive, but they are good. However, beware when ordering online. My sister and I both ordered pies online for Father’s Day. When we separately went to pick up our orders we were told our orders weren’t ready. No phone call about it. I ordered this pie DAYS in advance. If we are able to select a time to pick up a pie it should be ready at that time. My sister went to pick up her pie and had to stand there and wait for them to make it. These were Father’s Day gifts. The pie I originally ordered my dad wasn’t available and I had to choose another. This just seems ridiculous that it happened to the both of us on the same weekend.
